Entering Todayís World of Video

One of our major goals for 2016 is to share the benefits and dispel myths about foodservice packaging with a broad audience, including general consumers. As we thought about how to go about tackling this objective, we evaluated the resources we currently have and decided it would be fun to do something new. Something that would catch the attention of not only our members and those in the industry, but also consumers.

Did you know that YouTube has over a billion users and the number of people watching YouTube videos is up 40% since 2014? We didnít either. But once we found out we decided that creating a series of videos to educate people on foodservice packaging could be a fun and interesting option.

Phew, has the world of video changed since FPI's last entry, produced 15-plus years ago, on a VHS tape and running probably 20 minutes long. Who has time for that today? Or a VCR on which to watch it?

The hardest part was determining where to start. So we decided to start from the beginning.

One of the most common questions we get is "what is foodservice packaging?" To those of us in the industry itís a fairly simple answer but many people really donít understand all the different items that fall under the umbrella of foodservice packaging. That gave us a great starting point.

"Our Take on Take Out Packaging" is the first in a series of short videos providing information on foodservice packaging. This video walks the viewer through a quick background on foodservice packaging. What is it? Why should I use it? Whatís the benefit?

We will be adding at least two more videos to the series this year. We hope you will take a couple minutes to learn more about our take on foodservice packaging and let us know what you think of our latest foray into video, or if you have any ideas for future videos.
